How many times have actors accidentally called their co-star by their real name in movies and it’s gone unnoticed or unedited? I ask because I could’ve sworn I heard Robin Williams call Bonnie Hunt “Bonnie” during one of the climactic moments in Jumanji, but it was barely audible. ---

Don’t know how often it happens that it’s not caught. IIRC the most famous one to slip through was Star Wars when Mark Hamill called Carrie Fisher Carrie instead of Leia. I believe this was corrected eventually, but some of the Carrie copies made it to theatres. ---

WAG. Whether or not such a mistake makes it to the final print probably depends upon the budget. In some of the old Republic or Monogram westerns it might possibly be ignored. And I think it’s not that hard to fix the sound track to either smother it or replace it with something else. ---

In Charlie’s Angels (the movie) during a fight scene with the thin man, Drew Barrymore’s character calls, “Lucy”, to Lucy Liu, even though Liu’s character is named Alex. ---

There’s a scene in Goonies where one of the kids uses the wrong name. It’s pointed out in the DVD commentary, which is at least as entertaining as the movie itself (all the kids and the director are there, though Sean Astin appears to walk out in the middle). ---

In _Suburbia_, someone calls Mike B. “Flea” and he corrects them with “My name is Razzle!” which was his character’s name. They left it in. ---

A lot of people _think_ that in _The Fifth Element_, the priest calls Bruce Willis’ character “Mr.Willis,” and then Bruce corrects him by saying “Dallas,” but in actuality, he says “Mr.Wallis,” because he can’t remember that Bruce’s character’s name is Corben Dallas. ---

There were a series of books called Film Flubs that collected various onscreen errors. They included several cases where somebody used the wrong name. ---

In _War of the Roses_, when Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito are having an argument, Michael calls DeVito’s character (Gavin in the film) “Danny”. ---

I’ve seen references printed in film gaffe books but never heard the actual clip as it’s supposed to have happened. Mark Hamill has denied it in interviews too. For years, I agreed with the doubters about Luke accidentally saying “Carrie” in that scene - the audio’s so drowned out by other noises you can’t really hear him say much at all, so I figured he probably didn’t say it. Except when it came out on DVD in 5.1 Surround, where I definitely distinctly heard him say “Carrie”. I haven’t listened for it since, so I wonder if I’d hear it if I play the DVD again. I may do that tomorrow to check. ---

In one of his nit-picker guides that nitpicker guide guy claims that Matt Frewer addresses Geordi LaForge (Levar Burton) as “Lev.” Haven’t seen the ep in a while so I can’t confirm or deny. ---
