Why wasn’t the special master in Trump’s document case allowed to finish his job? The special master in Trump’s case is akin to an arbiter in a process called arbitration which takes place most commonly in the corporate sector. Arbitration happens when two parties simply cannot agree on the terms of any given thing, but finally agree to allow a third party to decide the terms for each, which settles the dispute. In Trump’s case the special master was either biased, or did not want to finish the job. Then, a Federal court ruled to simply nix the use of a special master altogether. Why wasn’t an unbiased special master not permitted to start and complete their job in the Trump documents dispute? I think the DOJ did not want a special master to settle this case, because the DOJ wanted to do this themselves, which they are doing by the way. What if an unbiased special master was not only able to start and finish his job, but also publicly report that Donald Trump did not commit a crime here? I don’t think the DOJ was ever interested in anyone’s opinion, except for their own. This opinion from the special master would throw a monkey wrench into the DOJ’s plan to “settle” this case. It would have been much more difficult for the DOJ to file these charges, if the special master became a household name in the media, with everyone hearing the clarion call, “Trump did not commit a crime, there is no there, there. A nothingburger.” ---
