I know that this is not the best venue, since Trump haters predominate here, but here goes: How do you rationalize his tendency to lie? I’m not even talking about the continuous exaggerations, but the easily provable, fact-based lies, like his recent “Michigan Man of the Year” lie. ---

Not a supporter. I don’t think they have to rationalize his lies. They know he lies and they just don’t care because he says what they want to hear. ---

Because some people are liars or bullshitters. You see it all of the time. I’m not trained in psychology to determine why but I believe it has to do with a hidden feeling of inferior self worth. Much like how Biden finished in the top of his law school class or was arrested on the streets of South Africa when try to visit Mandela. That’s much of the same sort of bullshittery. It is definitely a character flaw, and I wish we had more choices. Is it because he “says what \* want to hear”? Nope. But I do like lower taxes, keeping my guns, and having conservatives on the Supreme Court. And for the same and opposite reasons, you will vote for Biden no matter his lies, his creepy touchings, and his allegations of sexual assault. ---

Most of the Trump supporters have been banned, so theres not going to be much discussion here. The ones that speak up are going to get a lot of harassment ---

Those of us in our 50s–including Trump supporters–do. Sure, Obama tried and succeeded at walking the line between facts and bullshit, but it’s all relative, and anyway, as I’ve heard 30 or 40 times now, Obama’s not an option. Haters gonna hate. Fish gonna swim. Politicians gonna lie. It might as well be on their LinkedIn Page under qualifications. ---

I am not a Trump supporter, but may I humbly suggest that we not have this thread turn out like the previous 20 editions of this topic did. Usually the vast majority of responses were from Trump opponents, not supporters. May we let Trump supporters be the majority of voices here? ---

Also, **Jim Peebles**. I’m not a Trump supporter, and I think I would be offended by his lies if I were. They’re so transparent, I’d have to wonder if he thought his followers are just idiots. I guess it helps if you only have one news source, and it skips over, plays down, or confirms his lies. **UltraVires** , thank you for the frank response! ---
