# A question on Microsoft Works

I know, I know, I should be using something better, but it’s what I’m stuck with it right now

I’ve got two small questions on how to format stuff in the Works Spreadsheet.

Problem #1

Number format. This particular PC is convinced it’s French, so if you enter a bunch numbers such as 1.2 + 1.3 + 1.4 it can’t add them up. If you enter 1,2 + 1,3 + 1,4 it adds them no problem. How do I convince this silly machine to understand God’s own proper language (ie English)

Problem #2

Currency format. The option available is the €. How do you add other currecy symbols such as the £ or $??

I believe those settings are in the Control Panel - under regional and language settings or something - MS Works will just be picking up these system-wide settings and obeying them.
