I remember cranking the ice cream maker back when I was a kid in upstate NY. Not often mind you cause it was a lot of work when you could just, you know, buy some at the market.

I frequently take a cat nap on my lunch hour at work. There’s a covered porch facing a lake that has comfy outdoor lounge chairs. I just put my feet up, lean back, shut my eyes and snooze. Hopefully, I won’t nap beyond my lunch time. 😉
Pool has water. Chihuahua still trotting. (But better, I think.) Appropriate comments to all.

**gt** , I hope your job is less stressful soon, unless it’s a good kind of stress, I guess. That word “challenging” could be interchangeable. I wasn’t sure which one you meant.

We made homemade ice cream (with an electric I.C. maker) when I was a kid in Upstate NY too so I don’t think it’s a Southern thing. We got an I.C. maker for our wedding… which we still haven’t used. \*\*KeithT \*\*has ideas about a dark chocolate I.C. with pieces of candied ginger in it. Sounds good, but we just haven’t done it yet.

We moved on the first of August, and they’re renovating the apartment across from us and replacing a lot of the water system. It’s very noisy.
Dishwashing and taking apart a chicken now. I’ll make some kind of chicken stewy thing with it. Mr. Lissar is starting to get packed lunches again. It makes him happy.

I give up - I can’t get caught up. Lots of work coming my way.
I saw an odd sight this morning. This pickup truck drifted over to the right, hit the curb, and proceeded to flatten both front and rear tires. Scared the bejebus out of the driver behind him! And I reflexively hit the brakes, too. The truck slowed down and turned the corner, so I assumed he’d be ok.
Ok, back to the grind. Sending appropriate yays and boos and hugs and pats on the back…

Ah, so on the same day I was also driving all around Toronto. If you got mad at a Ford Taurus with American plates on the Don Valley Parkway… that was me :o
Hope the work is finished soon there! I know what it’s like to have noisy renovations right near you ☹

Aargh. Yet _another_ aggravation from my stupid mail delivery person. Not five minutes ago I watched them drive up, put the mail in the mailbox, and drive off. I immediately walked outside – to find a “Sorry we missed you!” parcel notice in my mailbox. They made NO attempt to deliver it; clearly, the idiot had the slip prepared because they didn’t even hesitate other than to drop the mail off and go.
So I called the post office and complained. I’m supposed to get a call back in five minutes once they call the carrier and find out what the hell happened. Why are people so lazy? Is it _that_ hard to get out of the delivery truck and walk the 20 feet to my porch to drop off the package?
Aargh.

Good karma going out to **Dotty and Noor**. How scary for you.
Not much going on here today. We have cloud cover which is helping the heat situation, and maybe some rain later in the week. Keep pushing those rainy thoughts my way. I feel awful to ask for it, seeing how so much of the country is having awful flooding problems. My poor brother in Texas is about to float away and his house has been hit yet again by lightning.
I’m trying to figure my next yarn project. A friend was gifted with 121 skeins of wool yarn and I’ve made a scarf/shawl–we refer to it as the “thingy”–and I’m going to try to tie-dye it, but that’s on the agenda for next week. I’m working on a cotton market bag just to tide me over, but I need a new project!
One of my poor dogs has been trying to get anyone to play with her this morning. Pretty funny watching her try to get one of the cats to play with her…

I have threatened to wire the whole house with cameras. Unbelievable what three dogs (all over 70 lbs) and two rotten furry kitties can get into during the course of a day. I had a friend come over to watch a movie a couple of weeks ago and she told me, “You’re right. They’re just like four-legged two-year-olds.” It’s never boring here at Chez LemmeOut.

My sock is calling my name…Knit me, knit me, it says. Surfing the internet at work = ok, knitting at my desk = not ok. But it’s just a small sock, really, and it’s so pretty and I’m almost done with the heel… I think it’s a just a tad short, so the next one will be a bit longer in the foot. Still, it’s nice to have a sock that fits my foot so closely, without being too tight. And it \*looks \* like a sock this time!

Cripes, the saws are annoying. I should have gone out today.
I think after I eat lunch I’m going to make an experimental sort-of crisp with some apricots and strawberries. As noise consolation. And since I don’t think I have any ice cream.
It’s nice to have to gain a pound a week. 😃
