Good morning everyone. I’ve been up for the last 40 minutes, but have yet to make coffee. I could stand to sleep some more, but my back is hurting, so I can’t. There isn’t too much going on here at the ol’ household. We may have dinner plans tonight, but I’m waiting to hear back from a friend of mine. I’d call her, but I’ve misplaced her number. I thought I’d entered it in my address book, but I didn’t. Right now, it’s looking pretty gray outside. I heard it was supposed to rain, but someone at work told me they had changed the weather forecast and the rain is supposed to hold off until tomorrow. We’ll see. You never can tell up here. **Mr. Taters** was supposed to have a guys night out last night, but things fizzled for him. They were all supposed to meet at 4:30 to pick up food to BBQ and some booze. It was going to be my husband, my husband’s nephew, a co-worker of husband and nephew, and the guy who’s house they were going to. I think there were going to be a couple of other guys too, but I can’t remember. So, anyway, I’ve written about the nephew before; never on time, breaks stuff, etc. The plan was for nephew and co-worker to swing by here and then my husband would follow them out. They were all planning on staying the night, but the nephew and co-worker had plans to pick up furniture to haul to the dump the next day, so my husband wanted to take his own vehicle. Since they were going to be drinking, the plan was for all the guys to stay the night there. I knew as soon as my husband said that he was waiting on Mikey that there was going to be a fiasco. So, 4:30 rolls around, no Mikey. 5:30, no Mikey. 6:00 a call saying that they were heading out. 6:30 no Mikey. 7:00 no Mikey. At seven thirty we all sat down to eat and hubby was fuming. At 7:35 the phone rang, nephew and co-worker were still loading furniture to take to the dump. My hushand was…irritated, to say the least. They were going to do that on Saturday. In the meantime, the rest of the guys are waiting on these two to eat supper. At neary eight, the phone rang again saying they were on the way to the store, the liquor store (which was closed by then) and then over to friend’s house. At 10:00 Mikey called and told my husand to come on over. My husband told him that he was going to bed. Sigh…that’s Mikey. Never on time, and expects that everyone is on his schedule. I guess I’ll cruise the Dope for a little bit now. ---

Afternoon folks! Its a beeeeYOUtiful day here in London. I was around overnight but I was playing a computer game called Westward Bound. You download it and get an hour’s free trial and then you are supposed to pay some small amount for the full version. Well due to a software glitch my hour somehow stretched to about 5 hours of free trial and I had a lot of fun with it. But boy did I go to bed late! I’ve only been up a few hours and it’s currently nearing 4pm. 😃 My plans for today are to do a few more chores, play lots of puter game and then make some nummy shepherd’s pie to freeze. Or it might be cottage pie, not sure. Either way its gonna come out nummerific. 🙂 ---

Morning, all. I got my Ravelry invite last night, so I was adding stash. I was horrified to discover that I have over 9 miles of yarn so far. No, not in my stash, that’s just what I’ve added to Ravelry, which was just what I could reach from the computer. I think I had better knit faster. I haven’t reached SABLE (Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy). Yet. Neighbor were up late, making extremely loud noises. I have no idea what they are doing over there, but for some reason, he’s built a shop on his driveway, instead of using the one at the back of his house, so instead of merely annoying his wife, he annoys everyone. He also took to aiming his shop lights into my bedroom, so I got a black out curtain. :rolleyes: Which reminds me, someone has moved into Crazy Neighbor’s house, but they are quiet, thank goodness. ---

SABLE, eh, **Jahdra**? I suspect I’m quickly approaching that. Alas, I’m not staying ahead of my stash-building, either. I’m not sure I _want_ to measure how much I have, although since I put it all into an Excel spreadsheet, it would be pretty easy to add it all up. I also just get some lovely royal blue alpaca yarn to make a sweater for **snowbunny** , and I’ve got about five other projects underway right now, so I’m knitting as fast as I can. Not fast enough, alas. ---

I am up and the coffee is on…I slept late woke up at 8.30 didn’t get my butt up till after 9AM which is very late for me. I have doors and windows open and all the ceiling fans going as it is only 75 degs out today. Think I will make toasted english muffins with some nice ham and cheese for brekkie and sit on the patio with the newspaper. Going to Trader Joes later - anyone want anything? ---

**BioRosie** for some inexplicable reason the bread store was fresh out of pants so we had to go to the maul. 😃 ACBG has some nice new pants. Four pairs to be exact. They look good on him. I know cause I picked 'em out. Bossy, moi? Just cause I made him try on several pairs and said no to some of ‘em? Just cause when I picked out pants they looked good? I got told it was a little like shoppin’ with somebody’s mother. 😃 Anywho, pants, bread (and other stuff at the bread store), new beard trimmer (I always hated my old one so today I got me a good one), and two new shirts got bought. Yes, I made him buy two shirts to go with his new pants. What? They looked good and he needed ‘em! Bossy, moi? Then we got haircuts and went to the hot dog place and got stinky hot dogs which we ate on the back porch cause, like I said, they are not allowed inside da cave. They were good though. _URP_ It’s sunny right now and warm so there might be pool time in a bit. Or a nap. Can’t decide which. Later on it’s supposed to rain. I also need to do some cookin’ cause we got company comin’ for lunch tomorrow. I suspose since I invited 'em and all I’ll have to feed ‘em. Ok, I’m makin’ chicken and rice with steamed fresh spareguts and summer squash. I’ve got some good frozen rolls to bake and I made a ‘nanner puddin’ last night which shall be dessert. That oughta feed 'em real good. Oh, and bloody mary’s beforehand cause it’s Sunday and you’re supposed to have bloody mary’s before lunch on Sunday. I don’t know why that’s a rule, it just is. Ok, I’m yawin’ and _somebody_ just informed me he’s goin’ to lie down cause he’s sleepy. Guess it’s nap time instead of pool time then. Later Y’all! ---

Hello everybody! Yeah, where **was** everybody? I though I was AWOL, but I see I wasn’t the only one. Over 24 hours and I managed to go through **all** of the new posts! Anyway, 'twas a busy day here – yesterday evening I helped wife pack for her trip (4 day conference in Florence, Italy… the things she suffers for the sake of her career! :p); then drove her to the airport at 3 AM, got up late, herded all the [del]cats[/del]kids for a while, went to gym, took the kids to see their new cousin (my new niece), and am now hosting little girl’s friend for an over-nighter… ::pant, pant, wheeze:: I see what little I missed was not lacking in TMI for my absence 🙂 And that it looks like \*\*Roo \*\*and I conspired to leave the field to others, this time… 😉 Anyway, you all have a great Saturday. I’m running out of weekend, fast ☹ ---

Wow! A cold front must have moved in; at just after 1pm the temp is only 87 degrees. Since we’ve had a heat index of over a hundred for the past few weeks it will seem positively chilly out there. Not that I am actually going out there. Got the news that our Booster Club’s treasurer has resigned. I am not happy. No telling who we’ll get. I am thinking about resigning myself. I am hungry and don’t know what I want to eat. ---

I was attempting to acquire some beauty sleep. I must have really needed it, because I didn’t get up until 11 am here. I DID wake up at 0430, but managed to go back to sleep. And it effing RAINED again this morning, so no yard work today. And just WHEN am I supposed to be able to do this? I’m talkin’ to YOU, Mama Nature! No yard work means errands and housework. Blech. ---

Smokey and I are back from the vet - she’s a healthy animal. And for the first time in 7 years she gained weight. She now weighs 9.3 lbs (personally I think that’s wrong - I think she’s still a 7 pounder, and the vet forgot to tare out the weight of the carrier, but whatever) Actually, she’s been gobbling up that new Fancy Feast Gourmet Selections (or whatever it’s called) in the tiny blue cans. She just loves that stuff. So all you with finicky eaters, try it. eta - off to the salon and maybe an early dinner with my best friend ---

**snowbunny** is fine, just keeping busy. The fire was shown as 38% contained this morning, which is excellent news. She ended up with an overnight guest, a Bichon named Hailey, so today was going to be running Hailey out to her aunt’s cabin in the woods, where there is less than no cell reception, so I assume I’ll hear from her later today about how amazingly gorgeous it is at Debbie’s, or it would be if it wasn’t so darned smoky. ☹ ---

That was a nice nap! No I’m not just gettin’ up, I’ve been up an hour. Just wanted to say I had a nice nap. It’s sunny out, too. Supposed to be cloudy. Maybe we’ll go get in the pool for a bit cause like **Snakes** said, it’s amazingly nice out today. The temp here is 90 right now. When it’s been anywhere from 100 - 106 with the heat index up to 115, that’d down right cool by comparison! We’re considerin’ pizza buffet for dindin. It’s soundin’ better and better to me especially since I was told I’d be taken out to eat pizza buffet. 😃 ---

I took the laundry out and then popped over to exchange some yarn that I thought was blue, but when I got it home, realized it was green, and it’s for someone who hates green, so… I decided to eat brunch out today, but got sidetracked and ended up at the maul. California Pizza Kitchen works, if you get there before noon. I tried on jeans and I’m a size 4! OMG! :eek: Oh, all right, I went to Lane Bryant, where they’ve decided to re-size their jeans. The saleswoman said I was a 6, maybe a 7, average. Nope, 4 petite. It’s the only time in my life I’ll ever get to pronounce a size six “way too big,” so I’ll take it. Unless they keep expanding sizes, of course. **roo** , anyone can join Ravelry, but the waiting list is currently ~18,000 people long (I was #9989, with ~18,000 people after me and I signed up 6/19). Supposedly, they’re upgrading their servers Real Soon Now. Once that happens, the invites will step up to 5000/week, and eventually, they’ll go live. Right now, they’re inviting about 1200 people a week. It’s fun for the organizational aspect, and being able to find other people’s projects without killing Google is pretty cool. I think the aspect that’s driving people crazy is that you can’t actually preview until you’re in. Once it’s live, I think the hype will die down, once people can see what it is and isn’t.
