I had Dr Death for one lot of lectures in part 1A maths for natural scientists. Dreadful. He mumbled into his beard and wrote utterly illegibly. ---

Dr Death is indeed still lecturing. Praise be to Om that I took complex methods last year, so I don’t endure him this term. 😃 Now lets just hope someone else lectures general relativity next year… My complaint wasn’t about bad lecturers - I’d never stop complaining if it was (there are those who argue that I _don’t_ ever stop complaining… but that’s another matter). My complaint is that they can’t find us decent lecturers for courses which are: a) vital, so it’s important we learn them well. b) fundamental, so they should have a wide range of people qualified to lecture them. I strongly suspect I won’t get my desire to do part III beaten out of me.
