Damn, we’re in GD??? something must be wrong with my comp, it keeps saying **The BBQ Pit**. in fact, how about a [cite](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/forumdisplay.php?daysprune=&forumid=5), since i suddenly have to back up everything i say now. in fact, [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?postid=2224014#post2224014) is the post that i found that out with. BTW, where is your cite proving we need cites in GD? your opinion is not enough to go on, i need proof! Oh, empart your wisom upon me, i am not worthy to be the vessel you knowledge flows upon. I shall now immolate myself as i will never acheive your superior skills and thus life itself is meaningless. Your statement that Americans “wanted all Arabs dead on Sept 12” was followed by some links that advanced your opinion very little. When challenged on it, you followed by saying " I don’t have to provide a cite because it’s my opinion" and “it’s the Pit so why give cites.” This is lame beyond belief, IMHO. Back up what you are saying, or it’s just worthless name-calling.

Funny you should say this. Of your 548 posts, you have cites defending you position 16 times, plus 5 more cites referencing other threads. thats 21/548, or 3.8% of the time you bother to back up your statements. i’ll give you the benefit of te doubt and elimnate some of your posts based on their non-debating nature, and dock you down to 350, but 21/350 is still 6%. Hardly justifying your ong speech on cites. I did notice you seem to say only three major themes in your posts, besides the normal ultra-conservative drivel you ooze across the board, so right wing Jesse Helmes would condemn you. to properly imitate **milroyj** all you have to say is “Cite? (while not including one yourself for your claim)” “Palistinians are murderers,” and “your post is BS and you are looking through rose colored glasses.” The only thing you seem to do on this board is complain when someone disagrees with you “fighting ignorance, indeed :rolleyes:” I find your arguments pathetic, your opinions biased and unenlightened, your cite fetish hypocritical, your :rolleyes: laughable, and you dispicable. This is not a rant against conservatives, **december** makes good points from time to time, but you are just a low-level troll that cannot debate a screen door. “duh, give me a cite, door, i demand it! you’re looking through rose-colored windows, Clinton supporter!”

Ummm…what precisely does “are you a jerk much” mean? Does it mean “are you often a jerk” or “are you very much the essence of what it is to be a jerk”, or…who knows.
It appears to me that **milroyj** is being a little weird about his demands for citations. There are certainly a lot of polls taken these days, but there are still lots of times that one can only speculate about how the public feels on certain issues.
I happen to disagree with **Tars** about his assessment of Americans’ attitudes on 9/12 concerning Arabs. Still, all we can do is speculate from available information. If we demanded a citation for everything on this board (and in the Pit no less), we’d have a tough time expressing any thoughts at all.
What was more important in **Tars** ’ message was the dilemma posed, that if American did in fact feel that way would the same statements that we make about Arabs regarding their attitudes towards Jews apply. What would that fact, if true, lead to if we extended **milroyj** ’s argument to encompass that information.
If there’s one thing I’m sick of already on this board it’s the overused (and often misused) counterarguments. Most prominent are:
1. “Cite, please”
2. “you’re generalizing”
These are the discussion board equivalents of “nuh-uh”. Anybody with an IQ of 75 can look at any post in an argument thread and respond with “Cite please? And also you’re generalizing.” Besides, most of us could care less about seeing a cite. If we’re just browsing the thread, we aren’t following your citation hyperlinks, if I know the poster and trust his veracity I’ll believe he has some backup for what he says.

You rip my third paragraph out of context and decide _once again_ that I am being apologetic of suicide bombers, when it should be fairly clear by the first two paragraphs that ‘insanity’ refers to the support the bombings are getting by Palestinians.
