He’d have soaked his post in wounded earnestness and inserted a link to an inapposite situation that occurred in NYC in the mid 80’s so that we could all witness the violence inherent in the system of liberal bias. A few months ago I saw a family having breakfast. The baby was bored and squirmy and tried to get out of his high chair a couple of times. Dad would pick him up, the kid would relax a bit, Dad would put him back and resume eating, repeat. I took over a couple of jelly packets - those things are sealed pretty well - and suggested he’d be happy playing with them. It worked, and they thanked me. It doesn’t take long to be helpful. ---

My husband has spent more than one plane ride (he travels a lot for business, including internationally) walking a fussy baby up the aisle or playing with a restless toddler, while a grateful parent gets some rest and relief.
