It was phrased as ‘_the_ fall’. So we can Rorschach it any way we want. How about Pound’s: ‘Winter is icummen in, Lhude sing Goddamm. Raineth drop and staineth slop, And how the wind doth ramm! Ok, here’s a small clarification. I had been training for several months in which I was supposed to take a fairly high fall (about 6 feet), landing on a thinly padded floor, flat on my back. Every time I practiced it, the fall went without a hitch. On October 19, the day of the actual event, I took the fall, and it winded me so much I struggled to stand afterward. I think I know what Marvis Frazier felt when he was knocked out with a body blow by Mike Tyson. The only real damage was to my pride. ---

If there was an afterlife (for which I think there is no evidence whatsoever), I would like to be a musician and scientist exploring an infinite universe of discovery and creativity, with bright, pleasant and enthusiastic collaborators. Not, probably, a ‘heaven’ in which all is already known… that would spoil the fun. ---
