A Sam Nunn/Michael Bloomberg candidacy?

It will be interesting. I sort of think Bloomberg at the top might help Republicans, whereas Nunn at the top might help Democrats.

Stay tuned, I guess.

To succeed, a third party needs several things:

  1. A charismatic candidate (Teddy Roosevelt, say)

  2. A strong, regional base (the South for Strom Thurmond, e.g.)

  3. A burning issue that gets people excited.
    Would a Bloomberg/Nunn or Nunn/Bloomberg ticket have ANY of those things?

No.

It’s a stupid idea. But if Bloomberg wants to blow a few hundred mill, he’s free to do so.
