A Scintillating MMP – and other nifty words

kai I’ve been thinkin’… bein’ slathered in peppermint patties might be fun with the right person.

My house smells all lasagnaie. It is too a word! I just made it up. It’s gonna be so good for dindin! I put most of it into four containers that will get labeled and frozen when it’s cool enough to stick in the freezer. I have some of those nummy frozen rolls, which I unfroze and are now risin’. Fifteen minutes in a hot oven and it’s like homemade rolls! I also made a sallit to go with the lasagna. Oh and brownies are bakin away. They’re from a mix but I put nuts in the mix so it’s all Sandra Lee semi-homemade! I have a sudden urge to make a tablescape. The woman is a drunk bulimic nutter.

That’s all the news from swampland right now.

Home, thawing out before we head to Lowe’s for some plywood. The kids are having a date night, and so will my sweetie and I. Tomorrow, daughter and I are having a shopping day, with lunch with a bunch of folks from my work chat room. The rest of the weekend is unplanned, tho I expect it’ll include doing laundry. woohoo.

I’ve got a chickie carcass boiling for future soup.

Just another day paradise.

I’m still here. I’ve just had a pile of work that has kept my nose to the grindstone. Today I have a blinding headache, so I will say hi and bye and Rosie’s sig to everyone, and I’ll be back eventually.

Almost time to go home! Have a good weekend! See you all Monday!

(How many exclamation points can I use in one post?? :p)

We’re having lasagna, too, Swampus! It’s Stouffer’s, but I’m tahred. I’ll make a salad, and I bought some yummy looking artisan bread to make garlic toast out of.

See y’all tomorrow!

my post got et :frowning:

hugs - happy birthdays - etc
I have another one of those annoying sinus/tension headaches that like to pretend they’re migranes. :frowning:
I’m off to bed.

back quickly to say
I wonder if the writer of Two Lumps is a Doper?

Great, now I’m craving lasagna. Thanks guys.

We’re having Generically Asian Soup and Dumplings (chicken broth gussied up with various Asian-esque ingredients like fish sauce, soy sauce, red curry paste, ginger and garlic, plus frozen chinese dumplings), which is about the furthest thing from lasagna there is. It’s tasty, but it won’t do much about this craving for hot cheesy noodles in tomato sauce. sniff

I’ve also got a random fruit crisp in the oven (blackberries, pears and cranberries, because that’s what I happened to have on hand). Maybe that will help soothe my wounded feelings.

We went out for Messican food and I had Pollo Fiesta, which was chicken, 'shrooms, and spinach in a cheese sauce over rice. Very very yum!!

Now we’re in for the night. We passed on the trip to Lowe’s. **FCD **will go in the morning.

TGIF! And huzzah for long weekends!

The mechanical things are out to get me.

First, I realize that my printer needs a cleaning as the reds were faded. (Dumb design by HP lets dust settle on the optics for the magenta laser.) Of course, this isn’t cleaning like dusting out the insides. This is like rebuilding an engine. Clearly this is not meant to be “normal” maintenance, but I have to do it at least once a year.

At last, the box 'o lasers comes out and is opened and cleaned internally, then it all goes back together. First go-around, the laser box is in the wrong spot and no printing is happening. Take it apart, re-assemble, and now it says there’s a hardware fault with the yellow laser. Must frustration later, I find one of the itty-bitty connectors broke. It’s fixed with a drop of epoxy smaller than a hummingbird’s tear. At last, it prints.

Now, the fridge is making funny noises. Instead of its usual hum, it sounds like an idling diesel. AUGH!

(bolding mine).

So, did it strike anyone else how appropriate this activity and name is for someone who was previously known as tinyninjachef? It didn’t hit me till I saw Spaz’s new name for him.

You’re making all of our low temps sound warm, taxi. Hope you made it through the day without suffering from it too much. The lowest I heard about around here was -17, but that was out in the 'burbs. Here in town it was between -5 and -10. Brrrr. It’s around 0 right now. I’m staying in. Tomorrow, it’s supposed to get all the way up to 27.

And I hope the winds stayed at the low end of that scale, kai. I think the winds we got after Ike were in that range and that was AWFUL.

I had an unusually productive day and, even though I got home a bit late (7:30ish), I have 5 days off. Wooooooohooooooooooo!!!

Did I mention…yay???

Hugs to all.

Home. Day long, but good (overall). iPod died on commute. Cell phone died upon arrival home. Car battery dead yesterday. Must go in at 0630 for ONE pt. Hate docs who ruin my day off. There, said it.

Need sleep. Need pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, definite articles etc. Haven’t lost punctuation–must be significant.
Need to read, but must attend to car, then bath, then bed. Query:

how do people who work full time do it? Am wondering. Am wuss.

Are not either!

I’m off to beddie bye…

Well, TGIF!! Firday at that.

I am home, I am wrapped up in a blanket and I am drinking some real hot chocolate. I’ve already started a new crochet project (btw, apparently I have the beginnings of a yarn stash … lol what should I watch for?!) and we hit the grocery store last night so I have the makings for at least a couple of crock pot meals. I got some beef for stew and also a corned beef brisket (for which I also got fresh carrots and cabbage).

I’m off until Wednesday - Tuesday is a holiday for federal workers in the very direct metro DC area, it being the inauguration. So next week is a three day week…after that, though, I really won’t want to work a five day week. :smack: I don’t know what I’ll do! At any rate, I am looking forward to the time off. Woo hoo!

Hope all is well with kaiwik. I’ll admit that, like Rosie, I always think of kai when I see that commercial for Vaseline Intensive Care that features folks from Kodiak Island Alaska. I’ll have to look for that lady in the ad now, thanks kai!

I come home, try to open the door, and it won’t. After 5 minutes of fruitless trying, I go around front. I open the door, and there’s a derelict sitting in my chair, watching TV, and drinking my beer.
Me: What are you doing here?
Derelict: Waiting for a friend
Me: You have to leave
Derelict: OK :wanders out:
I guess I left the door unlocked. On the downside, I’m out 2 Yuenglings. On the bright side, he cleaned the living room.

rigs, you get used to it.

Muppet, I had fish, rice, and broccoli, gussied up with black bean paste, Dollar Tree chillies, soy sauce, and ginger powder. Great minds think alike. Us too!

rosie, maybe. If Snooch ever says “Gotcha Ya!”, we’ll hgave definate proof.

Smartie, Trogdor is pretty good.

Herbs, I’d kill for a 5 day workweek.

doggie, that is weeeeeeird.

Exhausted beyond all belief. I hate essays week - and coupled with morning classes makes it hell. Definitely makes me appreciate Sunday mornings all the more, though.

Afternoon all. Still can’t keep up.

Happy First Birthday Nat!!!

Happy Early Birthday Spaz!!!

Hubby is off collecting our housemaid!!! Woo and Hoo!!! Now I officially have a House-cleaning Fairy (of sorts) to clean my dishes and change my sheets and clean my bathrooms and vacuum my floors and babysit on date night!!! :: snoopy dance ::

Doggie–that totally creeped me out. I am sitting here paranoid as all hell now.
Off to work, but tis a balmy 10 outside–seriously, if feels warmer (I must be crazy). Am driving the Mini Cooper to work. Heh.

Up and not yet caffeinating, because I had to share - it’s SIX - count 'em - SIX DEGREES F in my back yard right now. At least it’s not snowy, but the yard is hard underfoot.

Yeah, I know, it’s colder some places, but this is my whine, so hush!

Weird dreams all night long, including one that my father-in-law died. Thank goodness my dreams are just bizarro and not prescient. I was also dreaming about preparing for my daughter’s wedding (yeah, it was last May) and all we had to serve the guests was cake and Diet Coke. And I couldn’t find my pantyhose. And the house we were in was worse than the worst rednecky trailer you’ve ever seen on COPS. Definitely a bizarro dream.

Time to find caffeine.

Dang, doggio, that’s creepier than my dreams…

Up. Not quite at 'em. Babysitting Local Best Friend’s baby (well she’s almost 18 months, so toddler) at 11 (emergency last minute child care was needed). She’s teething and has a cold, but she’s a sweetie and not likely to be lots of trouble.

Guess I should get a few things done before I dig out my car.

ETA: so not awake that I forgot to say: ewwww, doggio, not fun.
