A Scintillating MMP – and other nifty words

Home, freezing. I called the heating oil company and they said I wasn’t scheduled for a delivery for another month. But we’re about to have a major chill descend. Maybe I have enough oil, but I’d rather not take the chance of running out.

Sketties for supper.

That’s all I’ve got. Time to feed the doggies.

Is it Firday yet??

Sorry about the bad news, gotti. :frowning: That’s really inconsiderate of them… hope they paid him for the day, at least, considering he showed up and all?

I’m wishing it was Firday too. Can haz wknd, pls? My SAD is kicking my butt this past week, too… I can’t seem to find the motivation to get up and go. :frowning:

I spotted a shipping container from a new Chinese company today, and maybe they need to re-think their company’s name in English. It was ‘Dong Fang’.
Will the Europeans counter with ‘Pussy haben teeth’?

Sorry about DH’s layoff gotti. Go enjoy the cruise. Y’all need it and have earned it.

Ok, if everybody who snorted, laughed, chuckled, guffawed at Nava’s snark has to go sit in the corner, then we need a room that’s just one big corner.

Howdy Y’all! Home and fed. Got a veef roast in the slow cooker for dindin tomorrow cause I wanted one. It’ll have a nice rich gravy too. MMMMMMMM…

Mousie it gets worse! We’ll have lows in the 20s on Firday! There’ll be an iceberg in my pool! This will be the coldest weather we’ve had this winter so far. Course I don’t have to go to work on Firday so bring it on! Maybe I’ll just snuggle down under my blankey.

Ok, off to catch up on other stuff.

Later Y’all!

So, what’s a veef roast? Is that some weird gay Jawja thing???

:stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry about DH’s job, gotti. Hope he finds something soon.

Home. Really tired. Trying to stay up late enough that I won’t wake up in the middle of the night, but not so late that I’ll be tired again tomorrow. So I think I’m gonna try uploading some pictures from my external hard drive back onto the laptop. Pretty exciting evening, no?

Back later…

SUCCESS!
I do not have to suffer any more ads! Talked to Phil in customer service at PP and got it straightened out. The computer menu to get to Phil is a PITA, but Phil was great. I asked to speak to his supervisor so that they could know how good he is and Bill, his sup was not as nice or as good on the phone…
It’s getting colder here by the minute, as am I. I am going to be late into work tomorrow because I have to take #1 and #2 son to school.

Need, perhaps, and the affordability is doutful. But once we get back home, the mystery will be how to pay the mortgage. Even if he does find a job tomorrow, he’ll still be missing a couple weeks’ pay for the time we’ll be away. Another monkey wrench is going to be “Sure I can start now, but I need to take two weeks off next month.”

They did at least pay him for today.

the new store nice, but cold. It’s going to be 28 for a high Friday(Outside, not inside[I hope]).

Sorry about DH.

Swampy, new store is a good thing. Any store would be better. Where’s the “veef”?

Congrats, rigs!

gotti, sorry about the bad news and the bad timing. Vibes to you both.

I’ve just found out our friend T drove herself to Emergency where they diagnosed a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and was bleeding internally. Her fiance? Just recovered from a punctured lung last month. Could the fates possibly be a little kinder to them, pretty please?

Yay, rigs!!!

Oh, my, cj, that’s terrible. Hope your friend gets better quickly.

I’m not motivated at all. But am going to move pictures right now… Really.

GT

Did I kill the MMP? Gosh, I hope not.

Copied a bunch of files. Going to sleep now.

GT

It’s almost Hump Day!

Sorry about DH’s layoff, Gotti; sending good thoughts your way.

It’s COLD here, and going to get colder  Guess I’ll be indoors for this weekend, cause I’m definitely not going to venture out in the cold.

Hugs and good thoughts to all who need em, and trouts to those who need them. LOL

It’s nippy here, too. About 37°F.

Sorry about DH’s job. That sucks.

I’ve read everything, but didn’t retain much. Hugs, gropes and smooches!

I can’t sleep. I’ve been awake since about 1:30. Yesterday Dad had another “episode.” Around 5:45 am, he got numb on his right side, and attempted to stand up, but fell down on the tile floor in the kitchen. This was the third such episode, and I had already told him “three times is a charm.” He had some numbness in his face, and slurring of words, too. We took him to the emergency room. He was not happy. He even smoked a cigarette before coming into the ER.

It turns out there is a name for this particular phenomenon - transient ischemic attack. So he had a battery of tests to determine why this is happening, but there were no results as of 4:30 pm when I came home. It was a long day.

The only medication he received yesterday was aspirin, and a nicotine patch. I doubt he’ll quit smoking, though. He’s been a smoker for 70 years.

I’ll head up to the hospital around 8:00, and keep him company. Yesterday the doctor said he’ll probably get out today.

In other news, ReboSon called and said that the other doctor he was referred to took his stitches out, and the infection has cleared up. He’s to continue to take his antibiotics until they’re all gone. His hand is getting stronger, and it appears to have no nerve damage. Yay! He’ll be able to look for a job now.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. YAWN

Today is my Thursday and I’m glad. It’s supposed to be mid 20s tonight but the low Thursday night is supposed to be 18 and the low Firday night is supposed to be 15. So when everybody is gettin’ up to go to work Firday mornin’ in the cold, I can snuggle down under blankie.

Veef. It vhat’s vor vinner! :stuck_out_tongue:

Need more caffiene!

Later Y’all!

gt, my brother took his current job when he already had a trip to China booked. The company were perfectly happy to have him come in for a couple weeks of “getting acquainted with stuff and people” and then go away for two weeks. It’s been his best job so far, by several bodies’ difference (or at least, by a lot less skeletons in closets difference).

swampy, try googling images of fronton (you guys may have heard of them as jai-alai, pronounced hialeah, which is the Basque name). In the original form it’s just a place where a big flat wall (for example the church’s side) meets with a smaller one and games of ball are played. Them fancy-schmancy roofs came later. We can all go there and toss balls against the wall to help get rid of frustration. “Here’s for idiot bosses!” (KA-BOOOOOM), “here’s for unemployment!” (KA-BOOOOOOM), “here’s for ischemic attacks!” (KA-BOOOOOM)…

I’ll bet you meant this for gotti, right? Unless you know something about me getting a new job that I’m not aware of…

Up. Is it Firday yet?

It’s really cold out and I’d like to stay home, please.

Everyone have a lovely Wednesday!

GT

I can see the attraction to playing fronton, Nava. Way more satisfying than a Nerf bat.

Rebo, sorry about your Dad! A blogger I read regularly had a TIA about a year ago now. He’s okay and hasn’t had any further episodes. I hope the docs have some answers for you all quickly.

It’s currently 3C/37F and FOGGY with a forecast of 6C/43F and a mix of SUN GLORIOUS SUN and cloud. Sun and fog–my 2 most favorite weather conditions.

My must do list today is two things: have a long a walk in the sun (!) and take a nap so I can stay awake late enough to adjust my internal clock to a 5 AM wake up. If this 2 and 3 AM business keeps up, I might as well look for a job as a baker’s assistant. Although, I am catching some House reruns that I missed the first time. :stuck_out_tongue:

GT, thanks for your thoughts about my friend ‘T’. They were told she couldn’t get pregnant, but now they’re quite hopeful about IVF. Bittersweet must only begin to describe this situation. :frowning:

Sorry, gt and gotti! Can I blame early morning blurfs?

crickey, I don’t even know half of what you’re talking about (I evidently wasn’t paying enough attention), but I hope that some day she can say, like many mothers I know “I’m not going to kill you because having and raising you cost a lot!” Including mine, who being sterile had three kids before IVF got invented :stuck_out_tongue:

Off to blurf.
