I need to be more Zenā€¦ šŸ˜ƒ Today is my Firday! YAY!! Just had breakfast, and Iā€™m waiting for my daughter to get her butt in gear. After I drop her off at school today, I wonā€™t see her till some time on Saturday. Which means we get custody of the idiot dog. rah. I had the most bizarre dream last night. In the first part, I was going to an office in a building that was 81 stories tall, but since the individual floors had super-tall ceilings, the elevator stops were marked like ā€œ5 - 9 - 14 - 18ā€ Weird. I got off and was immediately in an ancient type library with tons of stacks of dusty books, all kinda in disarray, and I was looking for a pop culture trivia book or something _out thereā€¦_ Then I was in the Pentagon, and I had a tomato sauce stain on the front of my shirt, so I was looking for a ladies room where I could clean up. I took the escalator to an area that was like a huge food court/arcade, and I asked where the bathroom was. I was directed to a pool where there were tent-like showers set up along the walls and military folks in BDUs waiting in line to shower. The next person I asked sent me to a laundry where the women were washing these huge dark blue things that were just yards and yards of fabric. Then I found an older woman and explained it had been 30 years since Iā€™d worked there (pretty accurate - I was in the Pentagon from '80-'82) and she directed me to a wood-paneled hall. I was thinking ā€œOK, this is the E-ringā€ (actually it was the innermost, so it was the A-ring.) I was walking along with my arms clasped in front, trying to hid the stained shirt, looking for anything that resembled a restroom. I saw one woman enter one, but she had a key and I didnā€™t, so I was stuck outsideā€¦ Then I woke up EXHAUSTED as if Iā€™d been running the halls of the Pentagon (all 17 miles of them) and I never did find a bathroom or clean my blouse. But Iā€™ve breakfasted now and Iā€™m caffeinating, so thereā€™s that. Happy Wednesday!!! šŸ˜ƒ ---

For some reason it strikes me as hilarious that the daughter youā€™re dropping off at school is the teacher, **Mooooom**. I now have an additional good reason to want to stay in my current project: apparently I have a quasioffer from The Crazy People from Scotland. Eeeeeeek! Donā€™t juana! Juana be able to say ā€œoh, sorry, Iā€™m in a projectā€. These other guys have too many captains for being a single ship, but they donā€™t drive me into The Shakes and donā€™t want to be my mother. ---

Awww, thanks for the happies! Was half-awake this morning when they mentioned some weird place names on the radio: Jackass Flats and Sober Up Gulch, both in Nevada. Theyā€™ve saved a rare toad species near there. [Interesting story](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=131194364), since saving the toads was really an anti-government action. Sounds like time to un-friend someone, **Haze**. I took the day off today because almost everyone in my department is taking Friday off, so Iā€™ll have relative peace and quiet. :mad: and ā˜¹ I went to a house fire last night; someone left something on the stove and left the premises. Anyway, bad back and all, I went, and stuck to doing light duty stuff. I figured out while rolling hose on the cleanup that I wasnā€™t doing as well as I wanted to believe. Well, anyway, Iā€™ve been uptight about getting my spine in shape for me to make the Fahr Control class next weekend so I can get my NC fahr akkadummy gradjumacation papers. Despite the wonders the physical terrorists have worked, I had trouble rolling hose. I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be in good enough shape to suit up completely and duck walk a hundred yards pulling a charged inch and a half hose in just 10 more days. So, I just quit the FC class. Winter fire school starts in late January, and there is usually a plethora of live burn classes between the 3 programs I usually attend, so that delays me by about 3 months. On the bright side, unless I do something really stoooooooooopid, my back should be 100% by then. Oh well. Getting old sucks. ---

Yay, a mid-week holiday! Except ā€¦ I thought it was Friday this morning!! imagine my disappointment that it wasnā€™t, especially considering that Friday=payday this week. Bah! Oh well, at least I donā€™t have to go to work tomorrow. I am having a hard time figuring out what times the Metrobuses are running tomorrow - itā€™s either a Saturday schedule or may be a regular weekday schedule. the world is full of juvenile cow-orkers today. I am full of grrr and I want my mommy so I can curl up into a little ball and cry for an hour or so. The incident itself isnā€™t a big deal but the other party and both our supervisors chose to make a very big deal about it, and in turn the rest of the office was gossiping about it. I like what I do, really. but I despise most of the people I do it with. ---
