OK, so the married person who cheats is a lying, betraying, vow breaking Slut. It’s just bad form to cheat folks. If you aren’t happy in your marriage, try to find out what has gone wrong, and try to make it better, if you can’t or don’t care enough to do that then get a divorce before you play dip the weenie. Wow, I was totally afraid to even read this – I was sure I was going to get flamed off my ass! Let me just clarify one thing: I have slept with a total of three men in my life. All three were one-nighters (except the one that kept hounding me and is now my fiancé). However, I was labeled a slut in high school before I even lost my virginity. Why? Because I wanted to date around and not get tied down too soon. (Ironic, isn’t it?) Omni, I fail to see how a woman’s sexual role can be equated to being generally less strong than a man. What do youmen exactly? That it is in a woman’s physiology to. . . what? Be on bottom? Lay there and take it? Wait for a man to make all the first moves? Only have monogomous relationships? Now, if you are saying that I should realize that if I date around I will be called a slut because thats just how society is, well, fine. I was one of the first girls in my class to take “slut” as a compliment (meant I could get guys that they couldn’t!) But that is not a part of my anatomy. Thats society, and society can change. And I think it should. Why shouldn’t it be acceptable for women to date as many people as they want, and sleep with them, too? What exactly are you saying? Beeruser & Eutychus55 – sorry, I don’t do that anymore; I’m totally loyal to my love. But feel free to fantasize about it! 😉 Slythe – It can be! As for the rest of you, I think for the most part, what you say rings true. If I considered “slut” an insult these days, i wouldn’t apply it to a girl just for liking to have sex or dating around. It would have to be someone who in some way hurts people with her sexual escapades. ---

I’ve got a couple of things to comment on here. For one, I have nothing to flame Cessandra about. To me it sounds like she has a healthy attitude toward her sexuality, which is a lot more than you can say for a lot of 18 or 19 year olds (including me at that age). If you’ve been cheated on, there is only ONE person to blame, and that’s the man/woman that promised to be loyal to you and didn’t. The other person isn’t an innocent party, but to focus your anger on them is just a way to avoid confronting the person that betrayed you. Valerieblaise – I think you did fine for your first post. Very ambitious to start in the Pit, I think. For the most part, I think you’re right. If my love cheated on me, it would be him that I was angry with. However, I woudn’t let the girl totally off the hook. It takes two to tango, and (like I tell my friend who tends to get caught up with married men) it’s just wrong to sleep with somebody else’s man. Of course, if the girl in question was somebody I knew – somebody that was supposed to be my friend – I would be just as POd at her as at Carl. PS How does **everybody** know how old I am? Have you just read enough of my posts, or is it obvious? PPS I think it applies just the same in the reverse – it’s wrong (very wrong!) to sleep with somebody else’s woman, but the cheating wife should hold most of the blame. ---

Well, this ain’t this a fine howdy-do: mental and moral whiplash right in my own very own aching skull… OOOOHHH-kay, the following is a personal statement and is no way to be interpreted as a judgment, condemnation or sneaky sidways “down” on anybody else…so chill, already… I’ve always viewed “slut” as completely equal-opportunity. To wit, men are just as responsible for their sexuality and hormones as women. Does this strike no one else? Am I the only antique, romantic poop around? Men and women both have horomones and urges and raging impulses. (Men–you DID know this, right?) Men, or women, who assume that testosterone equates urgency is, well, let’s just, sadly deluded. So we’re have those animal urges. The ol’ randy guy mating call of “LUUUV them round heeled field matresses!” somehow fails to impress me. So as a howlin’, prowlin’ bag of ambulatory glands you got your thrill on Blueberry Hill. You–as a guy–have a nostalgic glow for that long ago slut and you–as a girl–remember some racy, urgent coupling that was more memorable for the daring than the act. Well, I’m a true radical. The most potent sexual organ is the brain, and the sweaty thrill of surreptitiously gringing groins palls compared to being picky, thoughtful and full of intention. For men AND women. Referring back to a related thread, the worst sexual judgment I can think of (male or female) is “anybody’s”. Yeah, anybody can get nekkid and do the horizontal hula. Glands rejoice. Minks do it, vibrators will do it, and so will an amazing array of rubber goods. Maybe that’s “settling for” and enjoying what’s on offer. No put down–but not a whole lot of respect either. It’s—glands. It ain’t nuthin’ mink, ferrets and rabbits (and probably tapeworms) don’t do. But men can be sluts just as much as as women can. And–strictly my opinion–while sluttiness isn’t a disgrace, it’s nothing to brag about either. It’s just biology. Big whoop. What is sexier, and more potent, and more lasting is pickiness. Speaking purely as a woman (vomit in unison, folks!) why in the wide, wide world of cheap choices should I get my hormones in an uproar over some male who has less control over his heart, brain and sexuality than I do? Why should I want “anybody’s”? Control is sexy. Thought, deliberation and applied intention is sexy. When the body is separated from the the rest of the human critter, that’s sluttiness, for men and women. No fault, but no applause either. Shrug. Veb ---

Whenever I have heard the term slut, all I can think of is some jealous teenage girl who fucked the captain of the football team and was then jealous of some “slut” who’s personality actually attracted the guy who she had to fuck to get his affections. On the topic of the ultimate teenage fantasy about a slut, I personally do not fantasize about some blonde-haired chick to come up to me and ask to have sex.
