I don’t think I can stay home that cheap. Purely anecdotal, but a couple of friends of my mom’s went on one of those super cheap Carnival cruises out of FL. They said the crowd aboard was very noisy and rowdy, they had several items stolen, the ship wasn’t particularly nice, and in general, they had a terrible time. Granted, that’s one third-hand tale and I don’t even know which ship or when or any of the other details, but it did confirm other anecdotes I’ve heard about Carnival. Plus at that price, think about the type of people who can now afford to cruise - tacky people - like you! 😛 Oh, and Orlando isn’t a port, so that might make part of the cruise a bit bumpy… 😃 ---

That was a quick bit of gardening - mainly because my back is killing me. But I planted 4 peony plants, 2 clumps of coneflowers, and a bunch of grape hyacinths. I also took the stake off the cherry tree - I think it’ll stand fine on its own. I’ve got the sprinkler running now on the peonies on the front hill and the cherry tree - I’ll move it down to catch the grape hyacinths a little later. I think it’s time for more ibuprofen. ---

Everyone is gone, the dishwasher just finished doin’ it’s thing and all is peace and quiet at da cave. A good time was had by all. I sent most of the leftovers home with folks. YAY!!! Now I shall veg. ---

Back, and still blurfy. Mixed weekend; bad news was my approximately-uncle died last night ☹ He had a brain tumour, and I knew he wasn’t doing well, but it’s been really fast… He had a bad reaction to the chemo, and they wound up cancelling it. We weren’t very close, but he was just as much my uncle as my official ones (his wife was unofficially adopted by my Grandad). On the plus side for the weekend, I finally got to meet my cousin’s baby girl- she’s 6 months old, highly cute, and very wiggly 🙂 The actual trustee meeting went ok, we got a fair bit of stuff discussed, and now it’s not just the accountants talking figures, I can actually contribute suggestions, rather than just nod and try to look intelligent. Anyway, I’s tahred and haven’t read the thread yet- I can’t sleep at the parents’ house, it’s too damn quiet; I live in da hood, and the absence of screaming rows and police sirens keeps me awake. It takes about 6 hours to get there, and I was on a fairly full coach which was roastingly hot, which just makes me more tahred. I had to evict my housemate’s ‘friend’ when I got back (seriously, how oblivious can one get- he’s basically wrapped around her constantly, and last time he stayed over he literally tried to climb into bed with her, and she _still_ appears to believe he doesn’t think of her 'that way), who appears to be trying to move in. He apparently doesn’t sleep, and won’t ever stop talking voluntarily, so I really don’t want him staying over when I can hear every word. He’d apparently been there, awake and talking, for well over 24 hours… I also found out just before I left that I’m apparently now signed up to the Jobcentre’s outsourced work scheme, which is compulsory; I’ve heard a fair bit about it, none of it good. They can basically force you onto training schemes (apparently none of which are useful to anyone who can read, write and count) and they’ve recently been taken to court (and lost) for forcing people to work full time for no pay. I’m really hoping they don’t decide I have to do something over my camping trip next month- I’ve been looking forward to it since last year, and they could just send me on any bullshit thing they like and I have no ‘right’ to refuse or even negotiate. It might even mean I can’t do the volunteering I’ve signed up for, I don’t know yet. ☹ Anyway. Bed time. G’night. ---

**MOOOOOOM** knowin’ how to properly set the table for tea is timeless! What if Higgs wants to have her friends over for tea and dawg biscuits? Wouldn’t you feel foolish if you couldn’t properly set the table for doggy tea? 😛 **flytrap** if the brunette killed the older woman and served her up in finger sammiches at the tea, that would have been a _Twilight Zone_ episode instead of an ejookashunul film. ---

We definitely owe Rick Prelinger a lot of well, I don’t know what we owe him, but if he didn’t make all these oddball films available for posterity, we’d be missing out on a lot of valuable things like setting the tea table, using the phone and whatever else. ---
