Dinner was grilled cheese because it’s too hot to run the oven. It still looks like it might thunderboom later. I see from my schedule here that I am working tomorrow with nice coworker who has been on vaca. Good! Air conditioning is a wondrous thing, no? I am forever grateful, even as I wreck the environment for future generations… Filled my tank; took #1 son’s books back (they didn’t charge us for the pieces that his Western Civ book was in, thank og. I took them back because he was at work); made chocolate chip muffins (Krusteaz–ok, so I just didn’t want to make dinner!); and now I’m FREE to do anything. Somewhat stymied by the fact that I can’t think of anything. Hummph. ---

I think the worst of the storms are passing between us, **FCM** – except right now there’s a tornado that’s actually been spotted on the ground that’s heading east toward Leonardtown! :eek: :eek: :eek: So keep your eyes peeled!! ---

Eeek. I don’t know what to say, **rigs**. At least if there is a “may well” in there, there is some hope to the contrary? **Spaz** , I haven’t read Mercy yet, so nevermind my spoiler. I thought you were talking about Justice, because that one just recently came out in paperback (which is why I only just read it). Maybe I’ll get boyshorts with lace! How about that? We’ll see what VS has to offer. (I think there is a Fredrick’s in Chicago, **McUne** - I’ll have to check that out.) I’d offer to post pictures, but I’m afraid they’d end up being NSFW. 😉 The Guy and I watched _Death at a Funeral_ today. It was a rather predictable comedy, but amusing nevertheless. We have storms predicted too - lovely. ---

Those in storm county be careful! Thanks for the hellos again, makes me feel warm and fuzzy. It’s been a pissy day, and now I’m close to tears. I hate the emotional part of being pregnant! -The downstairs AC went out, and I borrowed my sister’s old unit. It’s three inches too big for my hole. It _might_ fit upstairs. My luck, it won’t, and it’s going to be hot and swimmy tomorrow. -Two years ago, the caretaker of the family reunion wanted to retire, but her immediate family didn’t want to take over the responsibility. (Yes, like all three days it takes to deal with it.) So me being the great person I am, took it over. Attendance has gone down over the years, so I brainstormed ways to get it back up, and this year one of those ways was to move the date, as many people had come to me and asked about it. And the park we hold it in is a hole, the playground equipment is old, and disappearing, there is no longer water, the list is endless. I got three visits from extended family, and one phone call. Tonight. At first there was a problem with me moving the date, but since family from Florida can come the week I wanted it, it’s okay now. And moving the reunion to my house? I was told no one would come. WTF? I’ll keep it at the park this year, but I’m going to have a nice speech, and possibly step down from the position. If they wanted to control the reunion, they should have kept it/taken it over. It’s frustrating. I feel way better now. And I wasn’t too bitter about it, was I? ---

I am making like an ostrich and pretending that if I don’t see it, it will go away. At least until the Board meeting next week. what else can I do? I have zero control over any of this. I listened and I gave advice (asked for). thank god I’m working tomorrow so I won’t have a chance to mind fuck this to death. Sorry for the strong language, but really, I do think it’s warranted. :eek: ---

Families are fun, aren’t they, **NoLa**. I can’t believe they wouldn’t come to your house. Seems like that would be much more comfortable than a park. Oh my goodness! {{{everyone}}}. My mostly boring week of work and hanging out at home seems boring in comparison. Well, in reality, anything would be more exciting than my life. I am seriously considering a second job. Not that I need it, but I have so much free time I just don’t know what to do with myself! No school? No second job? ---

I saw the doc today for my regular visit, and got my “cocktail” - a cortisone-lidicaine (not sure of the spelling of the second drug) shot that works wonders and I feel prretty damned good. The down side - it’s 3am and I am wide awake!!! ---

I just saw my work schedule. WOOHOO…I’ve been bumped. I was hired to work part time. This week & next I work 40-hrs weeks. Considering where I work, makes sense. My subprime mortgage lender will be happy. I have an apology to forward to our **Opal**. In a recent post, someone asked suggestions for ways to make $$ for doper threads. Silly me. Opal hadn’t posted for a while, so I suggested we offer to be **Opal** for a day, & offered myself for day 1. Okay, where do I send my check?
