You forget that the grasshopper dies frozen. I probably won’t be able to do it, but I’m considering not returning from Scotland after I’m done with school there. My main reason to be here is family, and let’s see… 1. Mom is still a PITA. Sorry. I can’t live with her and, as long as I’m in Spain, she’ll be either expecting me to live with her or “dropping by” wherever I am. 2. For my nephews, ours is “the other family.” When they need us to babysit, they call with great ceremony and moaning and I’msosorries, but if any other resource is unavailable we’re not allowed to see the kids. I didn’t accept becoming the Kidlet’s Godmother so I’d be able to see him when His Real Grandma is too busy to plonk him in front of the telly. 3. Middlebro, see point 2). 4. Conversations with Lilbro are similar to conversations with Mom in that I’m expected to ahum and ahem but never express an opinion, much less one contrary to theirs. Seriously, I’m having problems coming up with a reason to be here, specially knowing that the climate in Scotland is good for me and there is Decent Food there. ---

Reminds me of the tag-line from The Addams Family movie: “_You don’t choose family._” :rolleyes: Having said that, and agreeing that there may be some decent food **in Scotland** (which is one of my favorite places to visit in the world) – just be careful of moving 200 miles south and repeating the sentiment. I, for one, will laugh my fool head off… 😛 ---

Nice OP, **Doggio** ; I must admit to also wondering (like **BooFae** ) what the dog’s favorite flavor is, before stick … but now that I think of it, maybe I don’t want to know! :eek: Up, caffeinating, and at work - in early to boot! 🙂 Just had a peach and banana with cottage cheese for brekkies. That peach was good, even if it isn’t quite peach season yet. I dunno where they got those peaches, but it was indeed tasty. I’ve got a salad to have for lunch too … with harvard beets to put on it, yeah beets! Is it Friday yet? _ducks_ ---

I can even live in a rental in Scotland (good location as a base for consulting jobs) and, so long as I keep my flat in Spain, be officially living and working out of Spain. Another alternative would be finding me an eligible pair under a kilt, but that’s less likely to happen and anyway I don’t think that it’s decent to wish me on any man; it would make for a helluva excuse, tho. ---

The school is in Edinburgh. Inverness would have the advantage of even-longer summer days, but I think I’ll stick with the place that’s got… heck, listing what Edinburgh _doesn’t_ have seems much faster, if you ask me. Hanging out with his dogs makes me my uncle Javier’s niece; actually, I’d be his niece even if I never visited him or if he didn’t have dogs. This is Important: SiL’sBro broke up with his gf (rather, she dumped him), which means that all of a sudden “Aunt María José” wasn’t visiting The Kidlet’s house any more and he wasn’t supposed to call her aunt any more. He spent a couple months verifying which of his relatives were optional 😛 ---
