TMI, dude.
Yeah, I bet you’re soary.
Holy shit.
I for one appreciate the lack of phony corporate speak here. That said, I find the idea that somebody wants to be thanked every time they push the report button to be hilarious.
At any rate, thank you for your contribution in this thread billfish. In fact thanks for all of your contributions, past and future, at all places and contexts. Here at MfM Labs we aim for outstanding reader service. Have we provided that? Press 1 if yes. Press 2 if “Needs work”. Press 3 if “Somewhat satisified”. If you have further concerns, press CTRL-W and we will do everything we can to make the issue go away.
I do have to say that being a mod must be a thankless job.
I’ve never been given a gold star for reporting posts either. Maybe I should demand my money back.
A question for the mods: How many mod notes and warnings get handed out?
We don’t track mod notes.
There have been 14 warnings so far in February, and there were a total of 23 in January.
And, if I’m counting right, 26 post reports yesterday alone.
Chalk me up as another moderator who doesn’t respond personally to all reports.
Damn. They don’t pay you enough.
Well, that’s across all the forums.
It’s true that some of the forums get more reports than others, certainly, but it’s not like I have to see all of the reports everyday. I do try to look at each one, but depending on how busy I am during the day it may take me a while to decide whether one requires any action.
I’ll bet Zeldar would thrilled to help out.
He could be the Stats Mod.
This is just circular argumentation.
When I bring up the topic, I am dismissed because I am biased. And you know I am biased because I bring up the topic.
:shrugs:

Shodan
So.
I report a post.
How the frack do I know you got the report?
What are you mods?
Bo Derek dating on Plenty of Fish?
How fucking hard is it to click and say “thanks, we are on it” ?
Maybe from now on I’ll report a post…all about one a year of them on average…and I’ll get no response so every…then I’ll bitch about that in the thread…
I’m pretty sure they don’t have a “Thanks for this report” button. Either they have to PM back or email. Both take much longer than reporting a post.
ETA: A report may not be seen immediately, depending on who’s on and the time of day.
If we said “thanks, we are on it” to every report we got, it would take a very long time to do that. I mean, if it was one, it takes two minutes, you’re right. When it’s ten or so, that time adds up.
If you report a post, rest assured we’ll get the report as long as you didn’t forget to click the button or something like that. If you still have questions, though, you could always PM a mod and ask about it, we don’t mind.

I can POST to a GIVEN A thread in 15 seconds give or take.
Maybe you guys should post IN that thread “we, the mods are on it” then…
Dude, you are being unreasonable. You need to let it go.
Define unreasonable.
In this context of course.
And what is this “let it go” business? How often and how feverently (sp?) have I complained about this ?
More than one post in this regard is ‘let it go’ territory.
It’s unreasonable to expect the level of service you are describing for a volunteer position where most folks have a full time job. Mods respond to PMs. That’s reasonable. YMMV.
We’re not going to start doing that, I’m sorry.
More than one post?
Seriously?
I can hardly wait for your “let it go” response…oh the irony…
Or pretty much any other “let it go response” the internet…
Which would apparently would apply to anybody on the internet saying anything on anything more than a time or two…
