Maybe 3 times a year, I’ll go to a strip club. So I am by no means, a stripper expert. A Stripperologist? Anyway, when I go, I spend big. This past weekend I spent some time with a lovely lady in a private room and afterwards, she texted me her number. We had talked about how I like to play poker and have always thought it would be great to hire someone as a stripper/dealer for my games. So I got this number, texted it once and said thanks for a great evening and got a nice response. But for some reason, I picture this number belonging to the bar or owner and it just being a ploy to make patrons think they are getting something extra. Any thoughts on this being the real deal or just a ‘dummy number’? I would certainly like to connect with this person and private pay for her services. Would be a lot better than actually going to the clubs. ---

It’s not uncommon for strippers to give their numbers to good customers so that they can let them know when they are or aren’t working. Just good business sense, really. eta: a freind of mine is a bartender at a strip club - just wanted to clear up why I might know something like that ---

Well, like I said, I’m not a Stripperologist. Maybe clubs don’t allow it, maybe it’s a common ploy, or maybe it’s the real deal and srtippers do this to generate more business. Not gonna stick my neck out there if it’s a 99.5% chance Barney Fife answers the phone. ---

You talked about side job opportunities… the number is real, her work number. I would assume if you hire her, it would be just like any other stripper/dealer for hire job. IIRC, strippers are generally contractors who pay the bar owner for the right to work their shift, they are not employees of the bar, so there would be no reason for the bar to be texting you under her name. ---

Don’t get me wrong. It does happen. I have a couple of friends who married strippers. But it usually doesn’t go down like “thanks for the lap dance…we should go out sometime.” ---

You’re not doing anything illegal, unless you secretly want to proposition her for paid sex. I think a phone call is harmless. Did you tell her you were looking to hire for private events? She could just be obliging if you did. Strippers are people too. People have dated strippers they met at the club. A stripper took my friend’s phone and added herself on FB and instagram once. I think you’re overthinking yourself into a slight paranoia right now. ---
