# A student of mine was killed yesterday, and I don't know what to do.

Yes, she does. Stay out of this.  
How about if she called you rude and jerkish, for your post? And, my post certainly had some merit, while you are interfering in something that doesn’t concern you, and you are wrong for a topper. How’s that?

Why? If they had an actual relationship with the student, they already know. Making an “In case you haven’t been informed” announcement skirts the polling the general public line.
