Was that your own theory as a kid or something? It certainly was never part of the Superman mythology, either in the comics or the TV show. In fact, in one episode `Panic From the Sky`, Jimmy explicitly says it`s not the costume that gives Superman his powers and that goes especially for flying. (Probably emphasized in case any young viewers were trying on a Superman outfit and thinking of leaping out the window.)
And of course, in Riddle of the Cbinese Jse a thug smacks our hero in the back of the head with a pistol. Superman`s not hurt, the gun gets bent out of shape, and the crook promptly receives a thrashing.
But I could see how you could arrive at this theory from watching the episodes as a kid.
Please be so kind as to provide an episode number, episode title, origianl transmission date, credits,a source of video or anything for ** that paticular episode **. I’ve heard this old joke a number of times but I don’t remember actually seeing the alleged ducking in all the times I’ve watched “The Adventures of Superman”
On an episode of “Lois and Clark”, I saw Superman knock out a bad guy with a finger flick. I thought that was so cool, and I wish they had thought of that when Reeves was Superman.
