Apparently, over the weekend our president tweeted something to the effect that the appointment of the special counsel was precipitated by a Comey leak. So since the leak was of classified material it was illegal; therefore the appointment of the special counsel was illegal. A whole lot of straws being grasped at… But here are a few of the holes in this argument: The material in Comey’s leak wasn’t classified at the time he leaked it. Trump is confusing Congress’s rationale for appointment of a Special Counsel with the rules of courtroom evidence (fruit of a poisoned tree? Something like that) And the Special Counsel was appointed because the idiot fired Comey, not because of anything Comey said. But other than that: solid reasoning. ---

Michael “Pizzagate” Flynn Jr tweeted recently that his father never lied to Pence about his contact with Russians.
