So… Trump claims that the investigation into him is a witch hunt. Stone is arrested. Boiler plate reply of “NOTHING TO DO WITH TRUMP” and “NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WHITE HOUSE” And of course it’s a witch hunt too. (lots of witches out there) I have a pretty standard boiler plate reply to anything that Trump does. Fits all situations. “Because he’s a moron” Ya know, if the cops show up at my door, the first thing out of my mouth should probably not be “Don’t look in the garage!” ---

Given that Stone is a pretty damn unreliable witness, his testimony on what he did or did not talk with the Russians, with Wikileaks, or with any other source is pretty well useless. The documentary record - which likely is missing huge chunks of conversations that took place over phone, Whatsapp, and other mediums - is probably all that can really be used and we have that whether we have Stone or not. Really all we can hope for, out of his arrest, is that they might have snagged a few of his devices while arresting him. If he runs, it’s better for those of us wishing that some segment of the population will accept that Trump corruptly worked with foreign intelligence to steal the election, so I vote that Stone runs. And that if he does run, that he go to Russia. ---

Dumb question - conspiracy is two or more people agreeing to commit a crime, but what is “taking advantage of a crime after it’s been committed”? I’m wondering if there’s a possibility that this was the Russians approaching the Trump campaign with the results of their crime and the campaign just took what was given to them. ---
