A time Phil Collins was so loved he HAD TO play London and Philadelphia the same day?

I heard the new Band Aid single on the radio this morning. It’s not bad (not that the first one was much good from a purely musical viewpoint; although it does knock that awful yank dirge into a top hat).

But perhaps more importantly it went down extremely well with Britain’s youth (sample size - two). They liked the Dizzee Rascal bit best. I wonder if it will get a US release?

As for the DVD - does it have that godawful Bob Dylan set on it?

I wasn’t going to bump the Thread from the second page just to say “Thanks!”, but since owlstretchingtime has chimed in with new information (a valid reason to come back to page one) I’ll take the opportunity to say:

Thanks, delphica!

I thought the SST references were to the record label Black Flag etc were on.

I remember watching most of it, however i’d have been 7 at the time. There are quite a few people on the new Band Aid III record none of us on NADS could work out who they were yesterday.

Ones that I recognised (being an old git):

Paul McCartney

That weed from coldplay that sprogged Gwyneth Paltrow

Joss Stone

Dildo

Justin Hawkins

Bono (wanker)

Dizzee Rascal
