I’ve kept mine in the approximate neighborhood of rock n’ roll, just to avoid complete apples-and-oranges comparisons. What struck me was how erratic things were: in D you had Dylan, the Doors, and so forth; in S, there were Springsteen, Simon (with and without Garfunkel), Seger, Santana, and so forth. Then there’d be almost nobody to choose from beginning with N.
