Anyone else watching this? So far it’s a very surprisingly successful mix of edgy, classy, wholesome, and corny.

I just flipped over to it and she’s singing “Bad Romance” into a flesh-colored wireless microphone with an oddly-shaped end. It looks very…unfortunate.

My mother was for some reason very keen on watching this. I like Lady Gaga okay, but was not impressed. There were several moments that reminded me uncomfortably of that [scene in _Nashville_](http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/138592/Nashville-Movie-Clip-Barbara-Jean-Breaks-Down-on-Stage.html) where the famous country singer keeps telling charming anecdotes about her childhood rather than getting on with the song and eventually it becomes clear that the poor woman is unhinged.

That intimate supper club where she was singing Born This Way? Didn’t it seem too small and crowded for her singer/dancers to be flailing away, here and there, like those unfortunate servers in some restaurants who are required to burst into song and dance every so often?
