My dad lost his job recently. Details are stupid, but, suffice it to say, it wasn’t his fault, and his boss has threatened to kill people before. Point is, I think I got more upset than he did about it, so I feel ya. ---

Best wishes. Losing a job – even a crummy job – is traumatic. But please ease up on the self medication. People do care about you. I’ve started threads that went south, and any response from me just made it worse. It’s frustrating and upsetting. I’ve found that the best thing to do is just walk away from the thread and hope it falls off the front page quickly. ---

There’s a lotta morons here posing as smartiepantses (hell, I may be one, who knows?), and a few smart people who post like morons. Just roll with it. Way I see it, if I post a lead balloon then I have an opportunity to reevaluate my position and decide whether or not I want to make changes to my worldview, or if I’m still comfortable knowing everyone else is wrong. Either way, other perspectives, even fucked up ones, are useful. ---
