I’ll be having burgers tonight too, but maybe with noodles instead of fries. I’ve been practicing my clarinets and doing some painting work. I’ll make cookie dough later on for another cookie order. 🙂 ---

Rather odd levels of ignorance to be fought. I’ve had two customers in as many days ask me if members of my church (I’m LDS, aka Mormon) celebrate Christmas. I work in a thrift store run by my church. One of these was also sure we don’t celebrate birthdays. I politely explained to her that she had us confused with Jehovah’s Witnesses. As for the other one, I told him about the Christmas TV broadcast by our leaders and about all the Christmas-related material on our website. ---

We are staying another night. I had to take a nap, I just woke up and now I have a horrible headache and sore throat. I hope it’s allergies and that I am not getting sick. I still get a lot of Americans wishing me specifically a Happy Thanksgiving in November\*, or sometimes wondering if Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving, or being puzzled when they find out we celebrate it in October. \*Me specifically, instead of generally wishing “everyone” on the internet a Happy Thanksgiving. ---

After Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) got of from work at the Dark Satanic Mill at 8:00 Ante Meridian, she wanted to go to a tropical fish store she had heard about in Hot Springs, some sixty miles away. No, Swampy, it was not a gourmet butcher. dammit She was displeased. Most things had no price, and employees had to get the owner to give a price. He reminded her of a guy she once worked for, who would size up the customer and see what price he could negotiate. The guy had been a teacher of chemistry and biology, and liked to talk. I bought some macro algae, algae that looks like plants, has things that act as and look like stems, roots and leaves, but are not, they are algae, not plants, and two bright green mushroom coral that Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) admired, but she could not stand to negotiate about. No, Swampy, one does not cook and eat macro algae. dammit In fact, she left the shop while he was lecturing me about how good it was to have ammonia in the tank to grow macroalgae. I know of anyone else on earth who wants ammonia in an aquarium. It is indeed good for plants and algae, but in high concentration, deadly for fish. She wanted to try the local Mexican restaurant again, but the Chicken…something, it has chocolate sauce, was nothing like what she had in Mexico when her Mother sent her there to visit friends to get her away from me. She had had a sadly disappointing day, but at least she doesn’t have to go to the Dark Satanic Mill at 11:00 Post Meridian. That is 11:00 at night, Swampy. dammit ---

No one picks me out for “Merry Christmas”, or Rosie as far as I know. 🙂 You do deserve a turkey on the USA Thanksgiving, because you like it. Think of it as a bond between the two countries, like The Band. 🙂 My back hurts. I am waiting for the tramadol to kick in. ---

Well, in parts of Canada Simon Girty is (really) a celebrated hero. Around Pittsburgh he’s still basically a general scum. Borders made odd relationships sometimes. ---

It’s a freezing cold morning, but it is the winter solstice, which means we’ll be getting daylight back again. YAY!! And in theory, it will be sunny today. I hope so - they gray gets me down. I finished a 4th lap robe last night and I might have time to get one more done before we see Mom at Christmas. I’d like to give her a bag of them to take to her next meeting. Today, I intend to rotiss a turkey. I’ve also got to bake some cookies for \*\*FCD \*\*to take to work tomorrow. So it’ll be a kitchen day, which means my beautifully polished countertops will start to get grungy again, alas! Is it any wonder I hate to clean - it’s a you-can’t-win situation… Oh well, Happy Sunday! ---

{{ **Boofae and Boomum** }} Today is frawg day! I hope it will be fun, and make up a bit from yesterday, which was a rotten day- I irked at the post office for an extra sattiday shift. It was a mess. First off, no-one told me the canteen would be shut, and I didn’t bring any food or change for the vending machines. Luckily, the same nice Indian lady had brought some homemade veggie samosas this time to share, and gave me one, which was really good, but an 8 hour shift on a veggie samosa and a packet of crisps is not fun. Most of the group I’ve been working with weren’t there though, and I wound up working with this really annoying guy, who had no clue what he was doing and didn’t want to know. He winged about not getting a break when I was (I’d been there since 2, he started at 6), shuffled anything he didn’t want not sort onto my desk when he thought I wasn’t looking, and tried to make as many startling noises as he could to entertain himself. Not a relaxing day. Anyway, happy solstice all! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and drizzly out with a predicted high of 54 and rain. Thus, accordin’ to the weather PTB, this is as good as it gets all day. We shall see. I am Lector (the readin’ not the cannibal kind) this mornin’ at deheathenization. I got an easy one today. YAY! Ok, I need more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Just to get it out of the way I think I’ll iron the five shirts I didn’t iron yestiddy. If I do it, I’ll be done in under an hour and can put the iron and ironin’ board away.
