Well, Papa Tigs decided he wanted to go to a casino for a while this afternoon. Which we did, to no success whatsoever, and then on the way home someone coming from the opposite direction, in the middle of a long line of traffic all moving at the same speed, decided he needed to pass the car in front of him right in the middle of a no passing zone and not 100 feet in front of us! Papa Tigs swerved onto the shoulder to avoid a head-on, and I really, REALLY wish there had been a cop around; it scared the living crap out of me, not to put it too finely. Apparently the drunks don’t wait till evening to start driving badly on New Year’s Eve! So we’re home and planning to _stay_ home. For some strange reason, I don’t feel like risking my neck out there again today! I’m feeling seriously non-ambitious this evening, so I think I’ll crawl in bed with the cat and watch some silly DVD. I haven’t decided what yet, but I’ve got lots of options. So everyone have a safe New Year’s Eve, and here’s wishing us all health and prosperity in 2008!! ---

Dang, **MamaTigs** , that’s scary!!! Glad you’re all safe and stuff. We’re watching a 1980’s vintage Cheech and Chong movie - It’s amazingly bizarro. My youngest sis just called with wishes of the season and to tell me she’s having a pajama party for NYE. Her attire consists of flannel jammies and one of them 40s style fox stoles where the fox is biting its tail. Plus some kind of hat. Oh yeah, she’s a fancy lady… :rolleyes: I’ve had me a toasted almond, and I’m ready to crash. Dunno if I will make it 3 more hours. ---

Hi, all. I am watching House and watching it snow, snow, snow. Life is pretty good. #2 son is downstairs with The Husband, pulling poppers and throwing streamers. I must confess to a lack of desire to celebrate NYE. I hope all here have a happy holiday and a safe one. The roads are bad here. ---

It’s 26 minutes until the new year here. I’ve had a couple of rum and cokes. That was the extent of my celebrating. Woo-hoo, we’re such a lively couple. :rolleyes: The neighbors are letting off fireworks and have been for the last couple of hours. I don’t know why; it’s not freakin’ midnight yet. Fortunately for me, fireworks don’t seem to bother my dog. Well, here’s to a happy and prosperous year for all of you. _MWAH_ ---

Good Moooooorning Mumpers! **Happy New Year!!!** I am still pretty hungover from the large quantities of red wine we consumed last night at the ball, but am up and washed and about to pick HRH up from MIL’s place, where she had her own little NYE slumber party last night!
