# A YouTube question

How do you send a PM to the person who made the video (assuming they permit such contact?)

I have tried to figure this out and for the life of me, I can’t see any way to do it. I know it is possible, because people ask for folks to send them PM’s all the time. I can find no menu that permits this, and if I look at someone’s personal page, I see no button to select that would generate a blank form, (like the one that the Straight Dope has, for instance) for me to fill out and send anyone a message.

Could this be caused by some security setting I may have set years ago and forgot about? I don’t think I have ever received any message from a YouTube viewer, so I wonder if somehow I chose to have no contact either way with people on YouTube. I looked at my personal settings however, and couldn’t find a thing.

I also can’t seem to find a help feature for YouTube. Obviously, I am missing something fairly straightforward here, and I hope someone can point me in the right direction. It would be great to fix this problem I’m having.

Navigate to their channel page and choose the About tab at the top of the screen. There’s a button labeled Send Message.
