I saw [this commercial](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSAa9FgTBSg&feature=related) on TV last night. It may have been on awhile, but I don’t watch many commercials owing to using a DVR and skipping over them. But I thought this A1 commercial was sort of amusing.

Talk about zoned out. I missed that it was actually Meat Loaf singing even though the opening scene was “Meatloaf Manner”. I recognized the voice right off.
Oh, and I could drink A1 sauce. Love it.

But isn’t Mr Loaf putting on the A1 late? Shouldn’t there have been a pool of it caramelizing in a pool atop the the meatloaf for the past hour?
ETA: Okay, I’m more a ketchup man, but it doesn’t look like he’s using nearly enough of his condiment of choice. Like French fries, meatloaf is merely a vehicle for its condiments, a bland lump of calories that cleanses your palate before the next, intense bite.

Oops…turns out that song is more recent than I thought, coming out in 1993. I was thinking it was on the 1977 _Bat Out of Hell_ album. In 1993, I was 28 and in law school.

I’m 40, but I hang out with my 23-year-old neighbor. Of course Bat Out of Hell is carved in my memory and one of my all-time favorites, but he thinks of Meat Loaf as the “Anything for Love” guy. At karaoke he didn’t even know “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad”.
I can’t blame him, but from where I sit it’s nuts. Especially when he does know a lot of oldies and classic rock.
