# AAA and traffic tickets

Does anyone know if AAA will raise one’s insurance premium after their first speeding ticket, a minor one, even if they have a spotless record until then? Or what are the chances that it will fall through the cracks at AAA and they won’t know?

Any insurance company will find out about a ticket unless you were lucky enough to get one in a state that doesn’t report its violations to other states (I believe there are a few).

If it’s a violation that your state DMV charges a “point” for, your carrier will hear about it. How much your insurance goes up depends upon many other variables, such as age, type of car, etc.
