# AAAAHH!! My phone bill is outrageous!  Please help me with a stupd question!

Scotticher, I don’t have long distance on my phone bill. I use a 1010 number on the rare occasions I need to make a long distance call. Also, I checked the front part of my phone book, and the exchange numbers listed are considered local calls. They mentioned something called measured usage which I’m not sure about.

handy, I use Juno for net access at $19.95 per month. However, I’ll take a look at [access4less.com](http://access4less.com) to see what it has to offer. I agree with you, it sucks that they don’t have to contact customers when they change their rates.

We haven’t had that experience with the phone company.

About a month or two after we got our computer, we signed up with Starpower. We got a package that covers our cable, phone and computer for about $150 a month. All my local calls are free, my long distance is only about $20 amonth. We have almost 200 channels on cable (and there is still nothing good on most of the time). When ever we’ve had problems with DSL (rarely) the service personel have been great.

I think Cox cable has a similar plan as Starpower if Starpower doesn’t reach Alexandria.
