ABC's The Ten Commandments

Thou shalt not covet Cornelius’ Glock.

Up until this newest version I’d seen four others.

The 1956, with Hestion. The mini-series from the 70’s, with Burt Lancaster. The TNT movie, with Ben Kingsley as Moses. And The Prince of Egypt. All of these were different, and had something to recommend them, and I liked them all.

The current effort was not worth the trouble.

Yeah, that seems to have been the ubiquitous “kid’s haircut” in ancient Egyptian times. Adults often had fully shaved heads which were covered with wigs-- I guess the sidelock would indicate the child wasn’t old enough to be completely bald yet.

As I understand, the locks were often saved after they were cut, and buried with the person when they died.

Sorry, can’t help you much on that. There have been a number of GD threads on the subject, so maybe doing a search of Exodus or Egypt will point you in the right direction.

Just out of curiousity and boredom, I ended up watching the last half hour of this last night. O…M…G…, that was some of the **worst **television I have ever seen. My local high school could put on a better production than that. The acting sucked, the writing sucked, the special effects sucked, etc. We better hope that story isn’t true, or God is going to punish us all for producing such a crappy verions of it!
