He was only 68 when he played 35 year old John Travolta’s senile grandfather in _Look Who’s Talking_. That was a decade after playing the retiree Fish. ---

Someone elsewhere claimed that Vigoda in The Godfather was 3 years younger than Brad Pitt is now. I haven’t had a chance to verify that. Can it be true?? He always seemed ancient. RIP ---

He always seemed ancient. RIP Vigoda was born in 1921, and _Godfather_ came out in 1972, making him 51 at the time. Brad Pitt was born in 1963. He’s 52. So, not quite yet. ---

Conan did a nice tribute to Abe on his show last night. (Jan 26.) They showed a few clips from his old bits on _Late Night_. I had forgotten about the majestic beauty of a total vigodal eclipse. ---
