# Abolish the Air Force?

I’d rather not copy **Dissonance’s** whole post, but didn’t Navy carrier based aircraft (fighters) control the air in Vietnam? And I seem to remember B52s flying without escort, but that doesn’t make sense. I did see quite a few of their missions from a distance. They bombed the shit outta the HCM trail. I didn’t see that, though.
