Okay, this has gotta be treason. Joan Baez’s anything cannot be rightly classified as crap.
Eh. I haven’t liked her since Live Aid when she informed my generation that we were late putting our Woodstock together. Newsflash, Joan: not everything that happens revolves around the Baby Boomers.

Nik Kershaw’s _Wouldn’t it be good?_ - bound tightly to this song is a memory of skating on a very thickly frozen lake - I’m not sure if the song was in the charts stilll when I went skating, but I think we had it on a casette in a little portable player, while we were skating, in the dead of the night.

Okay good. I was worried for being the only one to mention good ol’ Nik. Surely someone else must have loved that cheesiness as well, I thought. I felt beyond cheesy. I felt like a cheese curd. All squeaky. And melted over poutine.

Mmm.

This song was recorded some years before I was actually available:

_Windy_ by The Association. Sent me into _psychedelic_ land, no joke. Which may not have been accidental. “Who’s **trippin’** down the streets of the city, smilin’ at everybody she sees…”
