Uh…what DID happen in the Others?
I sort of slept through it.
irishgirl, the ending to The Others was:
The family and the servants are the ghosts and the ‘ghosts’ are actually a real family they’ve been ‘haunting’.
Well, yeah, but I’ve always had this thang in the back of my mind that Verbal’s butler/chauffeur was Keyser Soze, and Verbal was just carrying out orders. I’m probably the only one, though.
A Beautiful Mind (though I wouldn’t say that it was absolutely shocking) and Abre los Ojos (Vanilla Sky)
I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned To Live And Die In L.A. yet:
During the final raid, the hero cop (as far as there are ANY heroes in this movie) takes a shotgun blast to the face and dies instantly. No miraculous recovery, no emotional final words. Just…BLAMMM!!!
The end of American History X.
I was expecting Norton’s character to bite the dust at some point, fighting against his former fellow skinheads. Having his little brother killed, by a black boy - which white supremacists would use to support their twisted cause - was a superb irony.
Oh, yeah, the end of The Usual Suspects was downright amazing, indeed.
Well I was pretty shocked by city of angels…
But I don’t know how to make spoiler boxes
And Reindeer games had me a number of times through the film!
The Usual Suspects was great though… you get all the way to the end and have to watch it again just because now you know who Kaiser Soze IS!
The Wicker Man.
I’ll chime in on The Usual Suspects, also, Primal Fear with Richard Gere when
You find out that Edward Norton’s character Aaron is all just a ruse, and he’s really some psychopath.
Memento was good too.
I also liked The Thirteenth Floor .
