Sure does.

Indeed I am. If Hampshire was talking about the same thing you are then I am confused by the suggestion that keeping a window open at night would be an alternative.

Me too.

>I’m not sure I entirely understand what you’ve done. Are you using this as a dehumidifier?

>The part I don’t fully understand is the part about running the air over both coils. (??)

I’m using it to dehumidify and cool 100% fresh air for my house.

What I mean about “both coils” is that the condenser and the evaporator both are inhaling outdoor air. In normal window AC use, the condenser uses outdoor air but the evaporator uses indoor air or mostly indoor air. In my use, there’s only one hose running to this thing and everything else is exposed to the outdoors.

Look at the baffles by the heating unit and make sure yours are full open and the lower floor is closed up much of the way. I wouldn’t doubt that yours may even be almost closed off, for you don’t bake in the winter. Turn the fan to On not Auto. Adjust the baffles again for winter heating. This has all been said but it’s easy to miss in all the extra discussion that won’t do you any good. On some integrated units the fan speed is adjustable by a service tech for higher output. Don’t monkey with the circuit board yourself, if it is, because you may fry the control board.
