I wonder whether you can say to him something like, “Okay, the information I’ve gathered makes me think you’re totally wrong. By January 1st, if we’re both alive, one of us is going to need to do a massive re-evaluation of how we gather and analyze information, don’t you think?” Dunno if it’ll do any good, but possibly getting him to wager his analytical skills might do him some good. Edit: ah, heck, followed a link and didn’t notice it was a zombie. ---

I live on the western edge of the Appalachians. Even a mile high megatsunami isn’t going to inundate us here. This is when I say ‘neener neener neener’ to you poor folks who live on the coast. ---

I think most predict it will happen on the 21st, although many are using 12/12/12 as a “lucky” day to get married here in Las Vegas. That could one day lead to an ugly divorce, making 12/12/12 indeed an unlucky day. Regardless - my student is probably up in a mountain in Colorado as I type this - I haven’t seen him for a few weeks. However, I have no doubt whatsoever that he will re-appear sometime in early winter or at the latest, in the spring. As mentioned, aside from his conspiracy/doomsday theories, he is quite the entertaining personality and I look forward to our chat when he returns. I promise to return to this thread and catch you up on Doomsday Predictions II: The Sequel. ---

A college student psychologically invested in an imminent apocalypse? Meh. We’ve all been there. The point of the apocalypse is, it’s got to come BEFORE finals. Otherwise it’s just adding insult to injury. ---
