I don’t know what it is that compels people to do stuff like that. Our recent fraud did that, and see what happened? It’s so much easier to ignore it, or to open it, shake your head, and then go on about your business instead of being a first-class jackass… ---

I remember, years ago on another message board, someone wrote a perfectly nice and harmless article, which included a sentence describing their love for dogs: “Dogs can do no wrong,” they said in the article. Some other hysterical little baby read the article, and expressed her extreme _displeasure_ at the comment about the dogs. Because she had been attacked by a dog as a child, therefore anything praising dogs was _offensive_ (_OFFENSIVE_, I tell you!) to her. She was blown off by everyone else on the board for being a hysterical bitch, thankfully, but not after crapping on a perfectly nice thread. Some people just _do_ this—they can’t seem to help it. It’s all about them, no matter what it is, it’s all about them. Ugh. ---

Responding to people like that in any way just feeds the fire. Guaranteed, if nobody had bothered to comment on Pliny’s stupid post, the thread would have continued as is. The next 4 posters after Pliny: adamyax, FinnAgain, unclviny, and Tomcat just escalated the situation from a simple inquisitive, to a bit of sarcasm, to insults, to closing. The correct action is to ignore the shitter and just continue on as if nothing happened. If you MUST comment, open a Pit thread and link it to the original, asking to keep all insults/comments here rather than in the main thread. You all have been around long enough to know better.
