Hi, I’ve been playing lots of hold-em on a little tiny lcd hold-em toy my mom gave me a couple years ago and ran into a weird situation. I had 2-3-4-5-6 NS and my computer opponent had A-2-3-4-5 NS and the computer gave the hand to him. Are there any systems where A-2-3-4-5 would beat 2-3-4-5-6 or was this likely a bug in the programming (i.e. they look for the highest card to break straight ties, even if the ace was counting as a 1 at the time?)

In Pai-gow poker\*, the wheel straight (A-2-3-4-5) is the second highest straight, next to the (A-K-Q-J-10) straight.

In regular poker, the wheel straight is lowest straight, and it will lose to every other straight (except another wheel straight)

\*At least it is the 2nd highest straight in every casino where I have played the game. Some casinos might have different house rules.

Most probably this, given pai-gow poker (as mentioned above, which I know very little about) is much less popular than “regular” poker.
