The [stupidity](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=20369893#post20369893) got too much for me, and I unwisely responded. First he hypothesized that the Germans let the British escape Dunkirk as part of some brilliant strategy to focus on the war instead of the opposing army. Then he wondered if there were any estimates of POWs from the battle, never mind that estimate was given less than 10 posts above his and is available in _any freakin’ description of the battle anywhere_. (Thanks, Chronos, for just a note.) ---
