To be fair, “absolutely nothing” leaves a lot of wiggle room for what war might be good for. That’s totally on them for not making it sufficiently clear. ---

Even moreso than the alleged pause in “one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind”, there seems to be an extra syllable in the first part of the line. “What i- i- is it good for?” The “absolutely nothing” is clear, but for awhile my brother interpreted the long syllable as saying “War? huh! But it is a good war”. But then he was confused by “absolutely nothing”. He thought it vaguely negated the phrase “but it is a good war”, so the gist of the song was still clear.
