**Acey** has started building out his fictional universe; he’s created an [imaginary friend](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=841148) with a pet chimpanzee (or “monkey” as he calls it) to go with his imaginary wife and daughters. This is evidently an exercise in wish-fulfillment:
