Thanks.
SUNDAY CHECK-IN : Week Two
This week has shown a slow down in change for both of us, which is not unexpected. I never really thought you could keep up that rapid of a pace of weight loss or gain.
Overall, the program is still working correctly though, as she mentioned above, Nashiitashii has lost another three lbs or so, and we took our measurements this morning to confirm suspected areas of change. With the exception of her bust, she has lost between 3/4’’ to 1" in all other dimensions. So that is a great confirmation! The largest losses were in her thighs, stomach, hips/butt, and strangely, calves.
For my part, I only gained about 2.5-3 lbs this week and will have up my milk intake again if I want to keep up the progress. I’m not entirely certain how I feel about that, but I’m going to try my best. This is for science after all! After last weeks quick gains in muscle size I didn’t really expect much difference in any measurements, and haven’t noticed much except about another inch or so added to my back in the lats which are now quite visible. I’m pleased with that, but I’ve added back a bit of tummy as well. So not unexpectedly here comes a bit of the predicted fat gain, after a little loss. Overall, a wash.
Thanks to everyone who is watching this thread and chiming in! The support, tips, debate and conversation helps keep us going!
Weigh-in today. End week three. Without having checked, it seems that I may have remained static this week as I cannot see any gain on my end. Nashiitashii appears slimmer, but we will have to confirm.
NM, didn’t see second page.
In both our cases it seems. Only a minimal change in both of us this week.
I currently weigh in at 165 lbs, a total increase of 10 lbs from my starting point three weeks ago. Averaged out, that’s about 3.33 lbs per week. Most measurements have remained rather static with only minimal changes not worth reporting. . >25". However, as predicted, a bit of the fat gain has showed back up in my lower stomach where I initially lost it during the first week. Body fat percentage still remains around 12% so no worries so far. Blood Pressure is within good range. This week has developed a new issue though. I’m currently experiencing cramping and pain in my calves and ankles. I can only attribute this to the rapid gain of weight. On the other hand, my knees actually feel quite a bit better; it seems that the exercise has improved the muscle mass and health in my thighs.
Generally speaking, it seems that Ferris’ claims in the book are reasonably accurate. Though I have no doubt that I will not reach the touted 20 lb mark, I HAVE already gained half that amount in three weeks of the program. Considering that I usually gained about 5 lbs a year before, doubling that in *three weeks *is nothing short of spectacular for me. I’ll save a detailed review and commentary until the end of next week though.
Nashiitashii has gained a lb this week according to the scale. We are uncertain as to this reading, because all of her measurements have remained mostly static or down by small increments. Visually speaking, she appears slimmer, and has lost the little bit of “baby fat” from around her neck area.
Updated Pic
I fell off the wagon last night, but for what I felt was an okay reason. I’m coming down with something, but it hasn’t decided what it wants to be yet.
Yesterday while in the shower, I coughed so hard that I threw up breakfast, then wasn’t hungry or thirsty until six hours later when I had lunch, which was one of my prepared diet-friendly meals. I’m still feeling weird and out of sorts, so I have a coffee. It’s nice and warm, but I’m not getting any sort of boost from the caffeine. Meanwhile, my left ear is slowly starting to annoy me; it gets gradually worse until it hurts when certain auditory frequencies occur. That’s when I decided I needed something spicy, and possibly a hot and spicy soup with noodles in it. I ended up picking up some extra spicy chicken and noodles, which helped at least temporarily clear my sinuses.
I still feel a little crappy this morning, but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. However, I haven’t eaten breakfast yet, so you never know.
Well, what I really like about this thread is that you’re getting in to it and givin’ somethin’ a red hot go.
Best of luck to all concerned.
 Put the diet on hold and keep on having that chicken soup. Yikes!
I’m feeling mostly better, but Monday was an “I’m sick, so I’m going to try, but not too hard” day. I got back mostly to the diet yesterday, but I’ve decided that, since this is the last week of “for scientific purposes”, today will be a cheat day. I’ve got a long day of work ahead of me (evening shift got shifted over one hour later), and in the interest of not making myself feel worse, I want to have the leeway to get a good chicken soup if I feel I need it. Because I’m also close to the start of my period, I have a feeling that this last week will not be a major losing week-- I’m a little bloated, fatigued and achy, and have been for a few days. More progress info at the Saturday weigh-in.
So after a long month of editing diets, work out programs and lifestyle changes, the results are in.
I have gained about 11 lbs from my starting weight. My body fat percentage has remained static, and I have added significant inches to my arms, shoulders chest, back and calves.
Nashiitashii Has lost between 9 and 10 lbs, and has lost significant inches from all her measurements with the exception of her bustline.
In depth analysis later.
