I wonder what they thought they were going to find by tapping her phones. Did they actually think they were going to be able to listen in and catch her demanding bribes, or ordering hits or making drug deals or something? Did they think they were in a movie? What kind of deluded fantasy world are they living in? It’s not like O’Keefe didn’t _know_ his own ACORN “expose” was fraudulent. I really hope the little creep does time. Imagine if a bunch of Muslims busted into a Senate office like this – especially if it was a _Republican_ Senate office. Fox News would want them waterboarded for information, then summarily executed. ---

He probably thinks all the people who just loved him half to death last week are going to rush to his defense. In another thread, I posted the text of a House resolution proposed by 31 Congresscritters in praise of his splendid work in bringing down the monster ACORN. He was also heavily laden with praise from just about every righty group in the country. Until yesterday, he was scheduled to be an “inspirational speaker” at a GOP meet in Salt Lick City. He was on salary over at Breitbart’s snake-pit. (And I am _not_ posting a link!) Today, Fox Gnaws is pretending he doesn’t exist, they never heard of him, and Glen Beck…Glen fucking _Beck!_…is dancing the renounce, denounce and condemn dance, aka, the Dance of the Seven Voles. Two bits says first thing he did when he got out on bail is put in calls to those 31 Pubbie Reps, a further two bits says he found them all terribly, terribly busy, leave a message, your call is important to us… Last week, he was their precious darling. This week its “Who?”. ---

Somewhat off topic. This whole thing should teach us lefties a very important lesson, a lesson it took the tighty rightys to teach us: Saul Alinsky was right. The Pubbies got after ACORN because they were effective, they were hurting the Pubbies right where they live. It wasn’t glamorous, it wasn’t showy, it attracted little if any media attention. It was done by threadbare idealists in second hand cars with consignment store suits. They pounded the pavement, going door to door, registering voters. And those of us who didn’t ignore them sneered at them, scoffed at their old-fashioned approach to politics. But the Right didn’t ignore them, because ACORN was making them bleed, and they were smart enough to know it. They were right, we were wrong. This shit works. Let us be grateful to our tighty righty brethren for bringing this lesson home to us, and let us show our gratitude by picking up that stick and beating the living snot out of them with it. ---
