I figured out a couple. IMHO In my humble opinion. AFAIK As far as I know I dont know what WAG means though. Can someone give me a rundown of all the ones that are in current usage here at SDMB (hehe I figured that one out too!) ---

You’ll find most of them [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=2528). I found this by using the search function, searching in the “About this Message Board Forum” for all posts in the last 6 months that used the word “acronyms.” Welcome to the boards, **Oystaman**. ---

Bump: the threads in this board are moved to the top of the list whenever someone posts to them. Those on the first page get far more attention than those on page 2, 3, … If a question has not been answered, but has moved to page 2, the originator or someone interested in the question might post a bump message to the thread to move it to the top where it’s more likely to get an answer. hijack: discussing a topic unrelated to the OP (original post). ---

I’m sort of new here too, so I don’t know if there are acronyms which are used only on the SDMB and nowhere else…But, go to [http://www.acronymfinder.com](http://www.acronymfinder.com) and type in any acronym and it will tell you what it means. ---

As I’'ve posted before, and now just about give up on it, most of these abbreviations are not acronyms, but initiations. It’s only an acronym if it spells a word.
