Two movies doesn’t make a trend, but Steve Carrell having something ripped off his chest has happened twice (that I know of). There was the famous body waxing scene in _40-Year-Old Virgin_, and then he ripped a wire (i.e., hidden microphone) off his chest in _Date Night._ ---

James Cagney punching someone out became such a cliche that he started playing around with it. I _think_ it was in _The Roaring Twenties_ that he knocked out two guys with a single punch. ---

I just thought of another one… Timothy Olyphant seems to land roles that are intense and/or psychotic. He has a knack for staring oddly in his roles. His Deadwood role (Seth Bullock) was a perfect example of this, as well as his role in Live Free or Die Hard and Hitman. ---

Robert Carlyle frequently had a bare-ass shot. On the commentary track for "_Ravenous_, he laughs and mentions the obligatory shot, so I know it’s not just me noticing it.
